Default Help on ordering new belt parts for Lt1

I need to replace the belt on my car. I was thinking about replacing the tensioner also I don’t like the condition of the pulley. However rock auto list a belt tensioner and a tensioner pulley.

can someone explain the difference?

second thought why the belt is off why not replace the idler. Just pop on a new pulley. No need to replace the housing?

Default

Buy 'LOCAL' always - NEVER 'Rock Auto'

This belt routing should be correct for your LT1. Do you have the FSM? 6A1A Section of your FSM

For some tensioners if the tensioner is still functional, you can replace only the pulley if you want. Most tensioners have an 'indicator' built into the tensioner. LT1 I don't know. Go to a 'local' NAPA or other AP Store and visually check.
