Default Converting to electric water pump.

LT-4
Can someone help me confirm my parts list?

I have the Meziere 55gpm water pump. Does anyone know what size freeze plug fits the timing cover hole?

Also, I want to confirm I can switch over to a standard L-98 TPI style timing gear and chain set? Should only have to run a shorter dowel right?

The machine shop is balancing my rotating assembly "internal" front and back. Id like to run a better than stock damper since the OEM seems to be external balance anyways (and is worn out). What do you guys recommend?

I stopped by NAPA with my timing cover to get the correct size freeze plug.

You don't need to shorten the dowel pin.

I'm running a Cloyes 9-3145 double roller timing set with the Meziere EWP.

???

the stock damper and separate hub assembly are neutral balanced. Look at ATI for upgraded (and expensive) one piece damper / hub assembly.

That's a great idea.

So just let it stick out?

Ok cool, I figured a double roller would fit fine since the OEM gear set is so thick.

I assumed incorrectly that due to the asymmetry it was external balance.

ATI offers a steel or aluminum for basically the same price, so I'll go aluminum to save mass since I went aluminum flywheel for the same reason.

Just remember, it has to be corvette specific, LT engines in Camaros and Firebirds have a different accessory belt drive and the dampers do not interchange.

The camshaft's dowel pin drives the optispark, not the water pump.

You will need to remove the water pump's drive to cap off the timing cover.

Might also need to do a small amount of clearancing inside the timing cover to run the double roller timing set.

Yeah thanks, I got the part number straight from ATI as their website is extremely confusing.
