Default New Digital Dash stopped working???

I reciently purchased a new/refurbished Digital gauge cluster for my ‘86 Corvette. It was working fine for months and now I noticed today it doesn’t work at all.
I checked all the fuses, tail lights work, all other dash/door lights work.
The gauges don’t light up at all, totally black with or without lights on.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

I recently bought one for an 1986 from an ebay seller. Arrived DOA sent it back to be fixed and it came again DOA so I got my money back and took my core to batee.com.

I know that some refurbishers don't replace the power supply but rather replace the capacitors on the old power supply. If the power supply fails it can go dark. Also take a flashlight and look to see if the LCD digits are working … if they are then it may be the connector pin solder connections between the 2 boards.

Bought it on eBay (Gary’s Corvettes), they have 100% feedback, problem is I bought it back in August and I’m not sure they’ll take it back. Probably drove the car twice since then.
Took a flashlight to it and nothing, totally dead.
Very frustrating!!

I exchanged mine with him and had no problems. He is also a member on the forum and posts wanting to buy c4 dash units from time to time in the parts section. I would contact him and see what he says. I would at least think he would give you some guidance as to what to check. Sounds to me like the power supply as posted above. Good luck getting this resolved.

Thanks!
Looks like they have a 1 year warranty according to their website, I’ll contact them on Monday.

Returned the cluster and was told it works perfectly, as a precaution they even replaced the power supply.
So what else could it be, why when plugged in it doesn't work?
I checked all the fuses (I can recheck), is there something else I should be looking for?

I think you need to check the pins on your connectors -- PM'd you something ... maybe a power connection or a bad ground. Do you see the LCDs with a flashlight?

Definitely check the ground - driver's side, right above the oil filter. I couldn't believe how loose it was on my '84. All my digital dash woes went away after I cleaned and tightened it up.
