Default help with OBD code 26

Need a little help to understand and fix a fault code 26, LCD blanking control circuit shorted to battery or CCM internal open. Anyone know what this means and a fix for it. 1993 LT1
Is it the CCM or can I check an input for this?

Thanks

Wow, sounds more serious than I expected. The service engine soon light came on this morning on the way to work and went out when I shut down and restared. It came back on about half way home and reset again after shut down. I didnt notice anything strange about the way the car was running either time.

Please be advised that these solutions are for GM cars, and not Corvette specific.

I believe you've an ECM CODE 26 and NOT a CCM code. How did you check? Are you sure you confirmed the correct module? ECM 26 is a Quad-driver module and would likely set the CEL you mention. You mentioned OBD but then CCM and noted the CCM 26 fault description.

I didn't look at the link that was supplied but just read your post and you mentioned the CEL.

Clarify maybe and it might be easier to help you.

This is a great thread. It explains the error code in detail and what the probable cause might be as well as the related components. Takes a lot of the mystery out of it.

I retrieved the 26 code by using the shorting plug on the connector under the steering column. Ignition on not running and counted the service engine soon light flashes. 12,12,12,26,26,26,12,12,12

The light resets every time I shut down and restart. It stays out for about 15 to 20 minutes and than trips and stays on the remainder of my 45 minute drive. No noticed driving issues.

Great info on those two links guys, I have the weekend off and plan to do some checking on these areas. I have a 1991 service manual I got with the car when I bought it last year and it shows the purge solenoid above the canister at the back right corner of the car just behind the rear wheel as the possible culprit if it is an ECM code.
