Default Check Engine Soon

My check engine soon light comes on every once in a while. Also I noticed it happens when a cooling fan comes on around 194.You can cut engine and re-start and the light is off.
So today I let it sit and idle until the fan went on around 228 and went off around 215 or so.The check engine didn't come on under those conditions.Check engine just comes on when fan starts prematurely.
Anything to worry about?Its a 1992
Thanks,
Tony

I would find out what code that check engine light is. Because you sound like it something to do with the cooling, last thing you want is to overheat the engine.

I had checked the codes by using the paper clip in the port under the dash.Didn't show anything.Took it to auto zone and O'Rallys ,neither one had an adapter to read codes.
It never runs hot going down the road, around 190.
thanks,
Tony

Have you tried disconnecting the battery to clear the code(s)? See if the light will go on again.
