Default 454 into 90 c4

hi has anyone put a 454 into a 90 c4 body?
I have tried to check this out through search option but it keeps kicking back to c3.

I want to build a big block c4. I like hot rods and have a 90 convert setting around not being driven and want to put a big block into it.

Has any one on the forum done this?
if so what results?
Any input or tips will be helpful.

thanks for any and all input

How do you like the extra weight in the front end?

Does it handle better? the 65% 35% weight distribution is interesting for a sports car with independent rear suspension.

I it wasn't for the moving the steering rack part I would be all over it. Its not hard to move the rack but I would hate to mess up the steering geometry.

four big things to consider
1. moving steering rack
2. headers
3. hole in the hood
4. weight

if your just wanting a "Hot Rod" build a big inch small block and none of these will be a factor.

He might not need to put a hole in the hood, if he goes with the right EFI setup

There not much weigh difference for a street driver to worry about.Good efi is nice but 5k easy for what I would want. There are low intake carb sets that will fit but performace will suffer.
People say big cube small block but intake still applies or after market ef
I have drove both and its not the same.High cube big cam small block is not a daily driver. 600 hp not so hard on bbc.

I have considered it, I have a 454 MercCruiser that would be awesome in a C4!

I've found (researched a BB for my C4 some years ago), and get comparable torque from the longer stroke of my 409. The 50-50 F/R balance makes the car a blast to drive, which the few experts who have driven have voluntarily stated.

I always was a BB devotee (no substitute for cubic inches) but learned that unlike most hot rodders extolling HP, it's torque that we love. After all, HP is a computation and too easily manipulated in marketing hype.

Many here, have gotten great performance and streetable results without blowing the budget, running SB setups. While difficult to predict, the myriad, unique little things in this rare task, like sufficient cooling, proper brakes given that weight distribution, etc., can really add up quickly. The BBC may be less fun and more expensive in the end.

I love the different aspect, but caution to carefully consider what your goal is in your street driver.

I'd actually love to see a BB, especially aluminum, in a C4.

There was a guy with a procharged, fuel injected, BBC in a C4 on here a few years ago. It was blue, and he made it all fit under the stock hood. Some of the guys in the Forced Induction / Nitrous section helped him out with a chain drive set up for the blower.
