Thats a really good ET. 108 MPH indicates the motor makes good power.
3.07 gear would get it in the 12s now but it's November and the DA is always exceptional at the Rock this time of year.... so you know that it will fall off some come next spring.
Glad you're back in a Vette and the GN is a cool car too.

The Corvette shaped horseshoe he has stuffed up his *** is, apparently, still installed.
This fool, from the woods in NC, has accomplished the following:
LT4 - probably the fastest stock head LT4 car ever, 10.72 @ 128.
02 Zo6 - second fastest stock car ever. 11.5 @ 117. Only a few hundreths behind the record, despite being 3 MPH slower than the record holder.
94 Covertible - probably the fastest stock car of it's type.
What. The. ****.

108 trap speed on a stock car with only 261RWP? Am I the only one that's calling BS on here? A C5 traps 109 with 300-310RWP. The 13.8@101 looks much closer to what a C4 vert auto should run.

You can go low 12's with 3.73 gears and a nice 3000K stall convertor.
Nice job, not sure why someone is calling BS on this.

I tend to agree. I can tell you when mine was stock other then 3.54 gears and 3000 stall converter, On mich. pilot tires I ran a 12.91 at 105.xx on a hot summer day. At the same time my friend had a 94 coupe 3.07 gears bone stock with goodyear tires. His ran 13.23 at 105.xx
Since then my experience has shown getting the engine as cold as possible helps, which you are doing. On a -1300 da day, I believe you are telling the truth.
BTW If I had it all to do again, I would find a dana 44 3.45 gears and swap. I broke the 36 with street tires. If cost is no object 3.73 on a stock motor would be my choice. Gears will make it a totally different car. Much more fun to drive.

You can chose not to believe it if you want to, but those are the times that the car ran which is why I made the thread in the first place. I know they are very good times for this car. However, since you are doubting it, here's some more info:
1. The Density Altitude (DA) at the track was -1341 feet when we arrived and was around -1,200 most of the day. That's the same as running 1,200 feet below sea level. That sort of DA is almost unheard of in NC. In 20 years of going to the track, the previous best DA I've ever seen was -750 feet, so the air was VERY good. If you use DragTimes DA calculator to correct that ET and mph to sea level, it corrects to 13.29 @ 106mph, which is still not bad for a stockish convertible with a 2.59 gear.
2. I've owned and drag raced 3 different C4's over the years. The first was a 1990 6 speed car, which I did full bolt-ons to. That car made 277rwhp and trapped a best of 107.5. However, it was out of breath at 5,000 rpm, so it didn't make that power for very long. The LT1 in the '94 pulls a lot longer at 261rwhp than the '90 did at 277rwhp, so it's not surprising that the trap speed is close.
The second C4 was a '96 LT4 that I raced for many years. In stockish form, it made 304rwhp and trapped 111mph on drag radials. So 108mph is not really surprising at 261rwhp. The LT4 ultimately trapped 118mph at 354rwhp after mods.
3. I weigh 152 pounds, so I'm not slowing the car down much. All other unnecessary weight was removed from the car. No spare, jack, etc. Also, after drag racing street cars for many years, I'm good at getting every bit of possible performance out of them at the track.
4. The '94 convertible has new Nitto NT555 radials on it (NOT Drag Radials). I was able to launch the car on the mat and it didn't spin. It was not leaving any usable power on the table.
5. The 13.8 at 101mph was Neat's Fox body Mustang. That car ran 3-4 tenths of a second and 3mph faster in the good air at Rockingham than in previous track trips with no other changes. The DA was VERY good.

Jonecap and neat are credible theyve been at it for yrs
Optimizing the car itself and driving...plus an amazing DA can put a # out there that may make one think their times for real.
Avg driver in the air out here would be slower than most on the web.
Its all subjective and cant always be judged off rwhp thats why i dont pay much attention to dyno #s and projecting times it doesnt mean much at the end of the day.

Have you heard from Mick lately? I've been working on catching up with him for over a year and can't seem to make the connection.

Talk to him quite often
He sold his C4 and is working on a pretty over the top Camaro project
Give him a ring.
