Anybody have an opinion on this cam kit. Im planning on ordering tonight unless i get some advice that points me another direction. The price is ok and the gains seem decent for a street car.

It's an older grind but it has been a proven 400hp kit. I don't think you can really go wrong with it, but there are some newer lobe designs. It depends on your heads/compression and your goals.

Well if it produces close 400 ill be happy. Not trying to make a monster just a little more fun.

Thanks

quite a few pics tonight for ya. I had a pretty good evening in the barn tonight. earlier in the thread you might remember me complaining about the paint coming out a little clumpy... well i bought a new paint gun and wow night and day. so apparently it was just time to trash the old gun. also have been having a bunch of parts come in the mail as well my cam kit will be here Tuesday then i can start putting the motor back together.... well the bottom end anyway. i have to port the top end still but that wont take to long.

I used a SLP 2400 with a cam that had a bit more duration and I wished I had gone a bit higher. I was also using a 3.33 D44 at the time. I was trying to keep it mild as this was my now x wife's car. It was very streetable and would still spin the Nitto drag radials at the track if I left at full throttle. Remember, advertised stall speed really doesn't mean a whole lot. Get some opinions from the guys.

You have more interest/views on this one post than I have had in nearly 15 years here. I hate you and respect you at the same time. LOL I'm still waiting for the widebody pics and possibly a chance to get some flares of my own.

Ya im hoping to get some more opinions. This will be my daily driver through the summer and will probably never see the track. My mods havent changed to much since i started
3:54 gears
Shift kit
Obx headers-long tube
Lt4 cam kit with 1.6 roller rockers
Ported heads and intake
Pcm tune
And finally.... Wait for it.... AIR FOIL 😉

So pics and such will be coming. Just had a slow spell with the getting ready for winter and stuff. It should be speeding up now.

I did a twin turbo lq9 in a 1991 camaro two summers ago and i got 54,000 veiws and something like 400+ comments over on the "turbo forum" antivenom... Post a lot so i can top that thread lol

so today was fun... laid on my back and gave my neck a work out cleaning the underside of the vette. came out pretty clean and looks a lot better. next will be the engine bay not looking forward to that one since when i pulled out the motor the a/c hose popped and covered EVERYTHING in Freon.

my cam kit should be here tomorrow.. oh the anticipation is killing me lol i cant wait to see that kit ... kid in a candy store.

also does anyone have an opinion on these tires? little thinner then i wanted to go but i'm thinking i'll widen my rims next summer. these should still look pretty good.

PCM For Less still does OBD1. Although mine is pretty much stock (1.6 Rockers & LT Tri-Y Headers) I had them burn a tune for my 1992. Runs great and went 12.96 in the 1/4 mile.

There are some others also-I am sure others will chime in.

Regards,
Steve
