89 Main Engine Block Ground Connnections
1989 auto coup stock
I've removed my engine and getting ready for install with ZZ4 short block.
I did take notes and pics, but where things may have seemed obvious (at the time), I was not detailed enough .
Concerning engine grounds, specifically the connections to the engine block bolt by the oil filter right above the oil temp sensor. This is the bolt I am referring.
I replaced a couple of the terminals that broke off when I disconnected them. Now I am confused, they all seem to small for this big bolt. Even the ones I didn't touch. I lifted them up to view. Do all these 4 (plus that braided ground strap and battery negative cable for a total of 6) go thru that one big bolt?
The original ground strap does not fit over that bolt - along with the other terminals.
What am I doing wrong? Do these get connected to another bolt (bell housing?) It's as if the bolt got bigger or the terminals shrunk, the bolt does fit into the block as shown.

So the bell housing (lower drivers side) gets these 5 connections, and the bolt on the block above the oil filter gets the one neg battery cable?
I can't believe I didn't take these pics!
Makes sense - though I can't remember squat (it's been almost a month).
What I am gathering is that as long as the block and chassis are well grounded, it really doesn't matter where these ECM and misc. terminals are bolted onto there. just need clean connections.
Did the connections go through the bell housing bolts or was it connected to that bracket that is bolted to the bracket on the bottom driver's side BH bolt?

The hole below that bolt in the picture above the oil filter is for the Oil Temperature sensor.
The negative battery cable goes to the bolt you show above the oil filter.
The rest of the wires which includes the braided ground strap go to the
stud which is the lowest bell housing bolt on the driver side.
I count 7 wires going to the stud but one I may have added on so it could
be 6.

You're right on... when I looked at my notes, it refers to see pic. - sure enough I do have that pic
My confusion was looking at other years diagrams showing it all connected to the one bolt by the oil temp sensor (and my failing memory).
