Default LQ4 Swap Performance Results

I went to the Etown Corvette Show & GO, and run for the first time with the LQ4. I ran two classes with it, and never open the hood, to let it cool down. I had to jump from staging lane to staging lane, because they were sending classes out, one after another, so I didn't have a lot of time to cool down.
The temp and humidity was high, and it rained for 20 minutes, with no change in temp or humidity..
I weighed the vette, it weighed 3570 with me in it. It has a has a 2000 LQ4 with cast Iron Heads. (9:4 comp) The engine is a stock rebuild Jasper engine. I rebuilt the trans 2 yrs ago with a stock converter, and the rear is a Dana 44 with 3.45 gears. And it has a stock 2000 Camaro intake and injectors and tune
The best past was.
RT....160
60"....2.010
330....5.748
1/8.....8.864
MPH....77.24
1000....11.555
1/4......13.831
MPH.....99.38

I dialed the vette in at 13.92 and was runner up, in the C1 class, went 2 rounds in the GM1 class.

6100 1st gear 5600 2nd gear. The engine torque curve is so flat. I rev it because it did not have a cam or exhaust. so I'm trying to take advantage of the revving ability of a LS gen engine. I wanted to see how a stock LS gen engine would perform before mods. The LQ4 is one of the cheaper 6.0 engines to get. It a good starting point for a build.

are you running a 4l60e transmission? Also, did you use a painless wiring harness or what? I feel sure the 9.4 compression is holding you back.

I rebuilt a 4L60 2 years ago myself, it has a TV cable. I fab a bracket for it. And I pick up a Camaro harness for $40, it had a few connectors missing. I order the connectors and pinned it myself and wired it. I data log the runs from etown. I'm going to play with the tune.

The LQ4 block was real popular 10-15 years ago as a basis for a turbo or supercharged application. Before the LSx blocks became strong enough to deal with the boost.

I still prefer the LQ4 block for real high power applications, tho... not much of a weight penalty.

put some AFR heads on that thing and it will be a ROCKET.

oh, one detail... this is for states with CA type smog checks... According to EPA regulations, it is illegal to install a truck engine into a car.

I know... I know... don't bitch to me, I am simply stating the law. I would hate for someone to do this swap and get burned by CARB or some other bureaucrat...

It also have the A/C compressor on it. I just need to put O-rings and charge it up.
