1989 vette - rough running after warming up
1989 6-spd Corvette. Having a head scratch-er of a problem. Initially the car was running rough. The longer it ran the rougher it got to the point it had no power to drive. The previous owner installed a K&M air-filter which uses a lite coating of lub spray causing the mass air flow sensor to malfunction. So I thought. After cleaning the sensor the car ran strong for several weeks. The problem resurfaced while making a short run. It went from running strong to rough to no power. Letting it sit for 1/2 hr allowed me to get it home although the power diminished the hotter the engine got. The air flow sensor was cleaned again but had no effect this time. A rebuilt air flow sensor was installed again no change. A temp sensor and EGR valve have been changed, but here's the kicker, the car started and ran strong until it warned up. The hotter it got the rougher it ran. Has anyone had a similar problem or have an idea as to what might be going on? I would be grateful for any suggestions.

original ECM? ecm overheating, solder joints expanding. Cool the ecm with a bag of ice or one of those freezable ice packs when it starts losing power. At idle at your home is as good as driving. If it runs better have the ecm rebuilt (EBAY $125.00) or autozone, swap your eprom. If it's not better??

For MAF power check use a DMM.
To test MAF burn-off, remove air filter, support MAF, put a mirror in front of MAF opening, start engine, shut off after short idle time and observe the inside of the MAF. The sensor wire should glow bright red for 2 sec after shut off.
