Fuel Injector Questions and ID
I have a 95 Coupe with 130K miles and had a leaking Injector. Called Jon at FIC and he has sent me new injectors and regulator. With the unknown age of the injectors and regulator, I wanted to to do it right with 8 injectors and the regulator.
I am at home with high pressure mechanical pop off injectors I use on the diesels in my toy trucks. But I have a question on the electronic injectors we use in our C4's.
I measured the resistance of all the old injectors. Known good resistance of good injectors is 17 ohms. 4 of the old injectors measured 11 ohms and 4 measured 12 ohms. What is this lower resistance telling me about the injectors I removed.
Can anyone ID the old injectors, the info on the injector body is;
AD 274
17121068
RP
Just curious, how to they open the injectors to rebuild them. I would like to open one and see whats inside.
Thanks

Usually when the injector starts reading lower it's an internal short inside the injector.. On my 89 the injectors weren't ethenol complient and the ethenol ate the inside of the injector causing the coils to short out ..As for the second part of your question , I really don't know how they rebuild them , but I bet Jon at FIC could fill you in........WW

The 17121068 ohms at 12.1, so if they are with 1 the coils may still be good.

Do not throw away your old diaphragm until you confirm your blm counts are correct. Changing that spring could change pressure. I'll assume you installed Bosch blue 280-155-715 as a great replacement.

My Vette is bone stock/6 speed, and going to always stay that way. FIC recommended that I stay with rebuilt injectors equal to the originals. FIC also supplied the regulator so I trust its correct and wont effect the BLM's.

Injectors are a lot harder to get apart than you would think. I took one apart a few years ago and posted pictures:
