Holy smokes. $200 for injectors, and takes me an hour taking my time, so just say 2 hours. That's $900.00 and hour. I think that's more than the Mustang Ranch, and at least there you get to leave with a smile.

5hrs labor is low, so at 120$ per hour that's 600$, and 1500$ for the injectors????

That was the price I was quoted a few years ago by the Chevy dealership. I bought my own from FIC and replaced myself in about 5 hours. It took a while due to my own mistakes and wanting to take my time. I replaced them again with a different set from FIC and took me 2.5 hours.

The price you paid is outrageous because of the injector cost. No reason to get OEM injectors.

Yeah shame on you for not joining quicker! At the very least, even if you cant do it yourself, you can ask about things before you take it to someone who thinks just because you own a Vette you have tons of money to throw around. I became a mechanic mainly because I couldnt afford what these dishonest bozos want to charge you. Buy a Factory Service Manual and learn about your car and maybe with that and the help of this Forum you may want to tackle some of this stuff yourself. It all started with me replacing rear wheel bearings on an old Chevy 4X4 while I was in college. I just knew I couldnt afford to take it to a shop so I learned with a book and trial and error. Now as long as the job doesnt require a lift or something I dont have, I will tackle it. I replaced head gaskets recently and altho I had to take the heads to a machine shop, I did all the reassembly, reset the valves and got the Vette running like a scalded dog again.

You can tackle almost anything on these cars. Just take a bunch of pictures and keep zip lock baggies with a permanent marker to store nuts and bolts as you take them off or run them back into the holes you take them out of. Electrical is not hard but tedious as hell when your trying to track down a problem,. I have learned more about electrical on this car than any other I have owned.

I wish I could say everything was fun but lets just say I learned a lot and my knowledge gained is priceless.

Good luck with your car and look around here first before you take it in to anyone. At least you can sound like you know something and maybe they wont take advantage of you. Definitely DO NOT take your car back to the A-hole who took you for the last ride.

I'm sorry, but there's no way in hell these injectors cost $260 each. for starters, the part number, fj680 is not a bosch number - Delphi, yes, standard products, yes, but bosch, NO! google "Delphi fj680, and shop for a price. you can buy these things new, all day long, on fleabay for around $60 each. I'm not sure what the flat rate is on replacing 8 injectors on a corvette, but a total price of $2864 is just frickin' robbery. not sure if the OP has any course of action at this point. if done at a chevy dealer, I'd talk with the manager for an explanation of the costs, and file a complaint with GM customer service, and the BBB. I'm not against people makin' a buck , but $2864 is just wrong!
