Default what is this? off tach output on distributor.



There is a connection identical to the connection that was in the distributor. Could I remove this resistor? (Thats what I think it is) the plugs would just line right up...

That is a tach filter. You remove that when you install and ignition box such as and MSD 6AL2 because they have their own tach filter inside. If you bypass that, (the connectors will plug into each other), your digital dash display will flicker and go crazy and be illegible. Also, the bracket is a ground for the filter and it has to be grounded.

Also I should mention, that's one of the hardest friggin things to remove and re-install out of the whole car.

Great. Ill prob just solder a ground wire for it cause I doubt ill get it grounded again.

Where should it bolt? Only potential thing I see is back of block over bell housing....

There Is A Stud On The Drivers Side Head Towards The Firewall. There Are Two Other Ground wires On That Stud.

It doesn't need to be grounded, it's just a capacitor. I notched mine so I could slip it under the bolt.

It DOES need to be grounded. On some years it's attached by a bolt on the intake manifold. On most years it goes under the top bolt on the driver's side of the bell housing (as shown in the picture).
