Brought the car out of winter hiding; ran out of gas
Long story, and LONG ****ing day today. One thing after another for me.
When I put the car away, I forgot that I had like 1 bar of fuel left on it.
FFWD to today. Battery dead. Car got a brand new battery. Started up within seconds after 6-8 mos of a dead battery. Car has fuel over a year old in it. Car read half a tank or so.
By time I got home, it would sputter hard w/ over half throttle sometimes... but not always. Then it got to the point where anything more than just resting my foot on the pedal resulted in it dying out. I basically glid up my driveway and into the parking spot. Pretty sure the damn fuel gauge got varnished up from the old gas and wasn't reading properly. I popped the fuel cap; a LOT of hi pressure gasses came out.
Had somebody rock the car while I listen for gas tank movement. Heard nothing. Pretty sure she's bone dry.
Tomorrow gonna grab the gas can and grab some 93 octane. Do I just let the fuel pump run for a few seconds to purge the lines then crank on it?

Some days when it rains it pours...
Seems like just adding fuel and hitting the key should prime the system and get a startup.
Personally, I would pull the pump/level assy and clean up the sensor rod because I like my gauge to read accurately.

aha... pour you say? My damn alternator let go when I pulled into advanced auto today. Also, my brand new battery was sucked dry.
Oh well. I got her running good. I cant BELIEVE what just dropping in fresh 93 octane will do!! Puppy started right up after a prime. I'm cleaning the fuel system out right now. Its running better and better the more miles I put on it compared to the 1yr+ old gasoline that was in it.

Mine has about the same mileage but everything mechanical has been rebuilt from the ground up. Nothing like getting sideways hitting 5200rpm in 1st and having that rear **** out when hammering it down low in 2nd

Poughkeepsie is awesome. Had family out there and used to camp out that way years ago what a great, quiet place.
I ran thru 5gallons w/ the techron in it and just put another 8gallons or so in it; think I'm gonna do another cycle of techron.
