talking crank hp, so basicaly looking for a 100 hp, can this be accomplished with headers, cam, heads, manifold and still be completely streat friendly (not to much lope.) car is a 92 lt1 6speed. Am i dreaming asking for these numbers and would a more intellgent way to go be bolting on a supercharger. I want the power buy i want reliability and the ability to take off on long trip. If bolt ons would do it what was your recipe. It would have to be something not so radical that i couldnt drive 300 miles to bring it to a tuner with the stock tune as theres nobody near by that does it. Car only has 50k on it so im not interested in tearing it down and doing a 383.

I don't normally touch these kind of threads, good heads, cam, exhaust and ported intake should give you the power you looking for, getting in touch with Lloyd Elliot at Elliot port works would be a good starting point. For drive ability it would really come down to tune and how well components are matched to each other.

Not that hard with bolt ons. On my 89, I started with 250 hp. Bought AFR 180 comp heads, TPIS Miniram, TPIS headers, TPIS cam and roller rockers, injectors and TPIS tune. Had a good experience with TPIS. Put it all on a rebuild with 5k on it. Car dyno'd at 330 rwhp. Put me somewhere between 375-390 at the crank so I am told.
Car is fun and quick. No desire to race it or for that matter, have never spun the tires.
A little costly, but it is what I wanted. The car is extremely street friendly and I would drive it anywhere!

a decent LT1 is not far off the crank HP stock. Frank (Mr. Mojo) car ran 12.8-12.9 last satuarday. It takes almost 300 RWHP Hp to run that et. and his car is stock. I ran a GM Hotcam and I like everything about the cam. Thats a good cam to use and a set of headers and x-pipe. You have a 6 speed, so you have 3.45 in the rear. The Lt1 is a good engine that makes good power. (until the LS showed up and out)

Set of AFRs. cam about 20 deg larger than stock headers, tune should get you there no problem and have good manners.

Just adding long tube headers, a stronger cam and a more precise tune will get you close. Add improved cylinder heads, a slightly larger throttle body and 30 lb. injectors and you'll be there with room to spare. Stiffer gears won't add horsepower, but they'll definitely give you some extra zip.
