Using 4 post lift to unload suspension...Redneck style
I've found my 4 post lift one of the best investments I've ever made, but the main drawback to a 4 post is that it doesn't unload your suspension.
I have 4 new wheel bearings, calipers, rotors, brake lines, and poly bushings to install, and I thought I'd start on that today. What I did was bought two 8' 4"x6"s and put them under the car where the jacking points are. Then 4 pieces of 4"x4" about 6" long at the jacking points. Raised the lift enough to align the 3 jack stands centered under each 4"x6", (one on each side and one in the center) then slowly lowered the lift while making everything was aligned right.
I don't think I'd crawl around under the car, but it seems to be pretty solid. Sorry for the poor phone pics.

Hope you don't have earthquakes in Michigan.
