I was wondering how much horsepower i will gain???
HEy wuts up guys...Umm i got a red 1986 l98 corvette i just picked up a lot of mods and i was wondering how much horsepower i will gain? I bought a brand new fuel pressure regulator, high performance pulley set, a custom jet 2 performance chip,k&n air filter, straight through exhaust and a b&b catback system for my car. HOw much horses do u think i will gain form all these mods. When i'm done installing all that i'm going to get a edelbrock throttle body 58" and port it for more flow. I would really appreciate your comments thanx alot

Congrats on your new Vette.
If you install a 160 deg stat with that chip you could gain 10hp from lower coolant temp.
With a 2 1/2" front Y, the hi-flow exhasut can yield 15-20hp gain.
You might pick up 5-10hp from the underdirve pulley.
A 52mm TB would be the most you should use on even a 355cid motor. Then you'll be ready for some more intake mods.
Cut back your spark plug ground electrodes (instructions w/ pic on my site) for an additional free 8-10hp.
When you have the plenum off to install the AFPR it's a good time to install that TB, port the plenum & upper runners, gut the MAF, do the TB coolant bypass and relocate the MAT from under the rear of the plenum to the side of the air filter lid.
BTW, does your have the late year Al heads? Check with a magnet if not sure.

65Z01 is smart. Especially the 58mm TB. a 58 will only be needed if you are running a stroked or blown engine. go with 52mm. :yesnod:

the Jet chip is worthless, no real gain
K&N would be about 5-10 if you cut open the air lid
B&B is about 10-15, gutted or removed cat would add MAYBE 5
But you would really need headers to get the full output
Pulley set 5-10hp i guess
If you have the Iron heads, then those need to be gotten rid of.
a 58mm is worthless, save your money and buy headers, heads, cam, new intake manifold, runners and plenum. Only real mods give HP, never what the vette magazines brag about.
