-- Help -- Looking to Pay It Forward -- Locate Local Shop/Tune --
I'm trying to locate a Local Shop in the Detroit Metro Area for a good "Vette" friend & since he's not CPU savy I'm posting for him. He has a 91' L98 & after looking & asking around, its been hard to find a shop that knows what their doing with this engine. It doesn't seem to be a major problem, but without a scanner I'm no help to him....
The car runs solid when cold, but after it gets to temp or 1/2 way to running temp, it looses power...I will apologize in advance & say, I didn't search for "solutions" & I really just need help finding a shop...
I really appreciate any help guys!! Thanks

I used Westside Corvette in Southfield a few years ago. They inspected a C3 for me that I was looking at for a European buyer. He saved our arze as the frame was bad.
Not sure about C4 experience though. Seemed honest.

@ -js- I agree & if it were my car I would probably go at it in that way to be honest...but I'm really just trying to help out a fellow Vette owner & he is of course looking for a honest shop that will look @ a C4...I left the location vague because he doesn't mind driving some distance in Lower MI/Metro Detroit...

I have an '84 and '91 and take both Corvettes to D&P Complete Auto Service in Roseville. 28023 Gratiot. 586-498-8980. Dave Kupinski is a fantastic mechanic. It's not a Corvette shop specific, he works on lots of classics, muscle cars and hot rods. Very knowledgeable and fair.
I've tried taking my C4's to Corvette specific shops and they usually poo-poo the C4's. I'd rather take my cars to a gearhead that knows and loves cars.

I was going to bring my VAG COM over to his house but he really just needs a shop & this time of year I just try to keep my head above the waterline, lol, I own a humble Power Equip Shop & I've got 550+ lawn mowers in here at the moment & lack the extra time to try & work thru his car...But I would normally go that direction GKK, thanks man !! This is why the forums here are absolutely the best, bar none...I have an "odd" stable of toys/cars & like pretty much everyone here, I use forums for other stuff & nothing can even come close to this place IMHO anyhow..Thanks all & if anyone else knows of any solid shops I will be checking for suggestions & appreciate any I get too...
