He's had the head off (see post #21 in this thread). My recollection is that he hand lapped the valves because they were leaking, so he must have removed the valve springs.

Seriously, I'm sure it is VERY frustrating trying to figure out what's going on, and hope it's something simple.

My thoughts were possibly worn cam lobes, but if the comp. check shows it's still pumping, that shouldn't be it.

He check injectors and he say all ok. Ok spark too. So far nothing new. Waiting on the cylinder diagnostic.

I think he is taking to long. . Any way i will give him more time.

I have to wait.

Did you ever try to adjust the valves while running the engine?

Hello every one.
Finally the problem is solve.
Like I say I had to take the car to a mechanic since I was not capable to pin point the problem.
The mechanic took 3 weekends to find out what was going on,. at the end he find out. Exhaust valve were too tight. On cylinder #5 and #1. And most important I had #1 injector wire was cut off at some point. Making the injectors work, some times and some time don’t. (Intermittent problem)
The mechanic charge me $275 plus $45 for gas.
Seen estrange to me that the valve were to tight . since I did adjust the valve myself. With the engine running method. I guess I did it wrong them.

I think this will put an end of my 2 year quest for engine power. I will get the car back on Sunday. Them I will know what it feel to have a Corvette, for the first time

I'm sure many of us are waiting for the pictures and the video of the engine making lots of power! I assume the crash was not so severe as to disable the engine?

I would be asking some direct questions of the mechanic, because a lot of what he reported does not make sense. example, post #326, a fuel rail o ring missing? how could that not be spraying fuel at 40 psi? if it were not, how did he find it? you reported many times that the pressure was holding.

post 327, you report an intake valve tight on #5, now he says it was exhaust.
You probably follow the reasoning here -how could the man not be consistent on what he was finding?

anxiously awaiting the video.

I was thinking that also...I had nicked a brand new o-ring putting mine back together years ago. When the pump pressurized it, it shot at least 10 ft. I'm glad I didn't have a butt going...
