Default 2 "Performance Enhancement" questions

First: When Autumn arrives and I tuck my baby (ugh...how pathetic does that sound?) away for a long winter's nap, I was thinking about pulling the fuel injectors out and sending them to Rich at Cruzin Performance to be cleaned and blueprinted. My car has 59k miles on it and I'm quite positive that the injectors have never been touched. I'm not counting on any performance increase if I have this done (meaning that it will add soandso horsepower), but I was wondering what I can expect to 'feel' in the responsiveness in my car when I get them back. If anything, I would imagine that my chances for optimal miles per gallon will increase. Those who've done this, I'd love to hear from :)

Second: I've made my intentions clear to my wife that next year's project for the vette will be to replace the entire exhaust system (not including headers). I am interested in replacing the front Y-pipe with the stainless steel Y-pipe from Mid-America w/o the pre-cats; replacing the OEM cat with a Random Technology cat; and installing a new Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system. Without the benefit of having a local dyno shop available in the immediate area, I was just trying to get a ballpark idea of how much HP and Torque increase I can expect to gain. I'm guessing also that the sound will be much nicer too. And, should I expect any resonance with this setup?

Looking forward to your thoughts :)

Flow balancing the injectors sounds good...but I never knew anyone that did it.

I will second the fact that adding long tubes and keeping the main cat/back will give you the best performance. You could even do the short tube hooker headers and eliminate the precats for almost the same gain.

If you've ever looked into the stock exhaust manifolds...you would be surprised they let the motor make as much power as it does.

Do they make the shorty headers with all of the emission hookups on them? How much am I looking at to get shorty headers?
