car only blinks code 12 but there is something wrong 100%
i just put the tpi back in the car. all new sensors ewverythings bolted up right and it runs and will take wot but theres a vac leak somewhere and it pops out the tail pipe. digi scanner throws codes 51, 25, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 41, 43, 46 and when i manually jump the connecter the SES light blinks code 12 nonstop even after minutes. pulled computer and prom everything seemed snug.

I don't know about the scanner but I solved all of my codes using the ECM. When you jump the A and B the security light will blink code 12 3x then show any other codes (bad codes) after all of the bad codes it will blink code 12 to tell you are done. 12 is the beginning and end indicator it is not a code.
Find that leak and mabey adust the timing because vacume problems(forgot to hook up my brake booster) mainly gave me popping in the air cleaner nothing was going on in the tailpipe. My 2 cents
good luck

Yes mine will show 12 untill I pull the paper clip out. But you have gas igniting into the tailpipe that means the exhaust valve is closing late. Otherwise it is pretty much impossible for that to happen. Try(I am not a timing guru) adusting the timing by ear even if you get it right then you may have to redo the minimum idle adjust. At least you won't have backfires which can do things to the converter ect. I like the 85's
Good luck

Don't pull the power wire/s off the coil!
Just adjust the distributor by ear. Using a timing light add 2-3 deg and road test it.
