Default Fuel gauge is acting up!

My 1990 said 3/4 full, 1/2 full, then full all in the same block.
I put 20.00 in this morning, still fluctuates,same reading, what's up with that?

Default wow

Thanks, that's really something.
I coughed when changing gears at 4000 rpm and now my car stalled out in a parking lot, restarts, idles but under pressure shutters and stalls again.
I will top up the fuel, let it sit for a couple of hours and then go get it hopefully, it's a mile from my house at an outdoor mall.
Maybe a fuel filter , who knows,

Thanks,

Zee

Check the fuel pressure ;
your pump may be on the way out and not able to keep the pressure up when required

The sock on my fuel pump rubbed against the bottom of the gas tank and shredded. The bits got sucked into the fuel pump. My car wouldn't go over 10 MPH and would stall immediately if I tried to give it too much gas.
