85 L98 Exhaust Question
Just a quick question......
Running low on the money for the vette, but noticed the other day that I have a few small holes in both mufflers. I have seen on here and other places something about muffler eliminators.
If I remove the mufflers and just put in pipe in their place, will that affect any performance?
Not a real big deal, but I hate hearing the spitting exhaust leaks and am looking for a cheap temporary fix. Thanks for any advice!!!

So it would not affect anything? I am not really worried about gaining HP or how loud the car is. Just wondering if it affect anything by removing the mufflers like throwing any codes or such.

No codes will be thrown. What mufflers do you have on now? If it is still the stock system, you might want to go with something like this.....

These are $190 for the pair plus freight. The original mufflers on the 85 were just like this, but only one exit pipe worked. The other pipe was for show. The above mufflers have both exit pipes working. You can install these yourself with a couple of "U" clamps to keep your cost down.

Ok, well for now I think I will just eliminate the mufflers and run straight pipe to the tips. Once I have the extra money I will check into the Corsa exhaust system. Thank you for all the insight!
