Default LT4 shifting problems

Just purchased the LT4 six speed and don't think the tranny
shifts from gear to gear as smoothly as it should. It doesn't jam
(except when the stupid one-to-four light comes on), but it
seems like it should be a little smoother shifing from gear to gear.
Is this typical or can something be done?

Thanks all you LT4'rs

The ZF6 does need a solid shift movement to change gears. If you do not push the clutch all the way to the floor it will give you problems, however it is a good transmition.Have you checked the clutch flued? The slave is a weak point in this system, but it is easy to change out, they cost about $80.00.
One other thing, you may want to change transmition oil, check the posts on this to figure out what you would prefer to use....good luck

start by draining and changing the transmission oil and go from there.
