Default 84 Corvette Rim Question

My 84 with Z/51 has the 8.5 front & 9.5 rear rims. That makes rotating tires a real PIA, since they have to come off of the rims.
I have a line on a couple of 9.5 rims. I know that the 85 has 9.5 on all four corners, so can I put the 9.5 rims on the front of my 84 with no problems and have the correct offset/ spacing?
I'm thinking so, but want to be 100% sure ....I've been wrong before
Thanks.

yes.

all the 16" are the same offset regardless of wheel diameter. Most folks go to 9.5 all 4 corners.

That is what I want to do so that I can go 9.5 on all and had just wanted to be sure that the 9.5 rims wouldn't stick out 1" further and that 1" is offset to the inside.
Thanks

The 9.5" will work just fine. Same as the '85-'87 Z51 cars had from the factory.

Offsets are almost the same.
16" x 8.5" - 32mm
16" x 9.5" - 38mm

The outside edge of the 9.5" will be 1/2"(1/2 of the 1" wider wheel) -1/4"(6mm difference in backspacing) = about 1/4" outboard of where the 8.5" wheel is.

The inside edge of the 9.5" will be 1/2"+1/4"(6mm) = about 3/4" inboard of where the 8.5" wheel is.

The center of the tire will follow the center of the wheel, so the same 255 tires will be in the same position with the 9.5" as the '8.5' wheels except for the offset. In other words it will move the tire centerline 1/4" (6mm) inboard which should not be noticeable.

Good luck.

AWESOME, Thanks.
I can get the 2 rims which are like new and (6) like new center caps for $150.00 or BO. A local guy with a VW bought the 6 rims off of someone that used the rims for some fabrication reference pieces for some parts he fabricated ...or something like that.

yes, QC actually provided the correct statements...as I was attempting to say, that the 9.5s are all the same and fit tyhe same on all C4s...The 8.5s came on certain models over several yrs but have been phased out due to the odd rotation pattern. 6mm offset is less than 1/4". Thats won or lost in the tread pattern or foot-print.

Ok, picked up the rims with perfect center caps & 1 extra cap for $140.00 -they don't even look like they were used.

Except the 1988 base rims which have the late model offset
16" x 8.5" 50mm (6.7" backspacing)
