Default replacing #74 bulbs in 84-89 instrument cluster

Can I change the turn signal & hi-beam 74 bulbs without pulling my 88 main cluster? I see how to get the halogens out. The 74's look hidden behind a lens.

Since my bezel just happens to be off right now...

The lens is held by two plastic buttons that you can pop off by prying with your fingernail. That exposes the bulbs. Since they are a wedge base bulb they ought to come out the front, but I didn't try to get them out.

Now I'm not sure of the numbers so I'll attempt to best describe my change.

The socket that supports those HOT dash panel bulbs is interchangeable with the sockets from the DIC panel.
I swapped in these lower wattage sockets and bulbs to reduce the heat in the dash.
Yes the dash is not as bright as it once was. But still legible in the sun, cooler and just as reliable.
Oh yeah, and a lot less expensive.

Thanks. I saw the buttons but did not attempt to remove. I know what to do now. I have Xenons to replace the halogens but the 74's are not on all the time so little heat is built up.
Great responses. The Service Manual does not tell you these things, just take the cluster to a certified shop.
