Default 93 ragtop takes it to the track

For the haters-

11.19@124.6MPH 1.64 60ft

Engine and car specs in thread here (post 12):

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...new-motor.html

Dyno results thread here:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...ts-are-in.html

The TQ Converter is really tight... It's only foot braking about 1800RPM and flashing to 2600RPM... hurting the 60ft pretty bad. We are going to loosen the converter up about 500-700RPM.... Should be some 10 second passes on the menu after that.

Hey Will,

Thanks for posting this up for me!! I had a great time today. I have my 4 runs and will explain each one. Also, I am car 18

Run 1. I hit the rev limiter going from first to second.

Run 2, I hit the rev limiter going from 2nd to 3rd. Gotta quit doing that.

Run 3 I left it in drive and let it shift at factory shift point (I think its 5700-5800)

Run 4 I left in drive, but when I got to about 5800-6000 rpm in 3rd, I shifted into overdrive.

If I could have shifted around 6200-6400 or so I believe I could break 125mph. Oh, these runs are with the hardtop and 3/4 tank of fuel.

Again, I want to thank Will for all the time and knowledge he put into building this motor for me. I would have never got it done without you!!
Also want to thank Ed Hutchings (Hi-Tech Tuning) for all the time you spent tuning for pump gas, E-85, and methanol. Your work is outstanding!!
Now, if I can just learn to drive.

And there are some people who really believe verts are slower than coupes.

Awesome!

x-brace weighs 24 lbs - ive weighed it.

its the only difference I can detect between coupes and verts.

Though some people talk about heavier rear bulkhead? double-wall construction? Which I have no clue about.

In convinced the fabric vert top (esp. with plastic rear window like on our cars) is going to weigh less than targa top, huge expansive coupe glass, and steel rear hoop structure of coupe.

I dont believe the 'hey XXX publication says the vert is 3450 and the coupe is 3250 from XXX publication'.

Nine times out of ten thats comparing a fully loaded, full tank of gas, automatic verts (which most tend to be) compared to a stripped down manual coupe without any gas in it.

Ive weighed my vert before with truck scales and have gotten a weight of 3150 lbs with a full tank of gas. However, I have done some weight reduction mods (ex. ditched the boat-anchor dual mass flywheel, long tube headers, etc.)

Anyways sorry if Im taking away from the thunder of these results.

Your track results are spectacular and are a testament to you and Will's work.

Indeed, it's always nice to go to the track and not have any excuses about the weather... but to be truthful, I didn't even bother to check the DA until asked. The weather has been so crazy here in early spring that we just took the car on the first nice weekend that we could find a track open.

I linked to the orginal dyno thread in my first post but the car made 462RWHP and 398RWTQ thru a 4L60 Auto trans with a 9.5" Vigilanti Stall converter (susposed to be 3000RPM but it's not quite). Car has a D44 Rear end with a 3.73 rear gear and MT 275/50R15 Radials.

I uploaded 2 video's of the passes from Saturday to my Photobucket.... not sure what's wrong with my img code in the orginal post....

http://s50.photobucket.com/user/rkle...78011827992685

I'm positive the car will get faster and faster as he gets more seat time with the new engine and is able to hit the shift points correctly.

Again, here is my dyno sheet.

You had told me before in a pm (
I am confused. That would be close to 500rwhp in a manual trans and that combo doesnt have that potential as the cam and heads are too small, and cubes.

Fill me in ppppp lease.... )

Now do you believe me?
