1995 Valve cover gasket
I just changed the driver's side valve cover gasket on my 95....what a PITA. I changed out the passenger's side about a month ago which was easy. Less than a half hour job.
Boy not the driver's side. Those of you that have had to take off the serp belt, what did you use. All the other bolts on this are metric, but the belt tensioner is 5/8. On my 85 I could use a breaker bar and a standard 5/6 socket. On the 95 there is no way you could use a breaker bar and even a short 5/8 socket. I ended up using a 5/8 / 9/16 combination box end and slipped a 7/8 / 1" box end over that to create about a 18" tool to release the belt. Once that was off, it was just removing the altenator/air conditioning bracket, swinging the alternator out of the way after undoing the wires. Remove the long bolt that holds the injector wires in place and move a hose or two.
This is making me really rethink my plans to change out heads, intake and RR.

IMO to remove the camber brace would be a bigger PITA.

When my 94 was stock I could remove the driver's side valve cover without touching the belt or alt. It takes a bit of manipulation, but it can be done.

Since I've owned my 95 I've had to remove the serpentine belt now twice for some repairs.... First was to replace my AC compressor, and last time to get my alternator out of the way for my valve cover install... I use a 5/8" box wrench and slip my 'persuader' which is an old jack handle I have here over the end of it.... I figure the specialized wrench that some guys have pictured would be a little easier, but my system is pretty easy to begin with.... On my car there is absolutely no way I could fit anything but a box wrench on the tensioner, no socket and ratchet or breaker bar, that setup is too long off the bolt it hits the crossmember in front of the motor....
