Default So some moron welded up my rear toe rod....

And I need a new one. They welded the inner and outer together and now I can't replace the worn outer.

I can't seem to find a replacement.

Any ideas?

You said the outers were welded to the inners? If that's the case you need it all! Explain if I'm misunderstanding here!

The rt side is OK, the left side is where the trouble is.

I may be able to get the outer tie rod off but someone welded the jamb nut to the inner rod real good. There is also a piece of pipe welded in there. I mean good. No bubble gum weld, they got full melt fusion in there.

I believe CC has everything for $275 maybe. Now there's a change in '92 in the outer tie rods so you need to make sure whatever you do that you've got matching parts. You could use an '88 - '91 assembly but you can't combine pieces.

I'm guessing that there was an impact left rear and that's how they "cobbled" the fix.

When I did the fronts, I had to use 93 inner tie rods. The one they said fit 92 did not fit.

'92 inners were a one year only and if the car had ever had a service rack installed it would likely have been an updated assembly. '93 to end of production inners are different!

Do you agree on the impact likely and the fix?

I'm not sure what happened in there. It is very straight and tight and appears to have never been painted.. I guess it could have taken an impact to the wheel area but nothing seems damaged except for this part.

I'd just like to replace the sleeve assy if possilbe, the inner joints feel tight

For less than $300 and some time you can have a "good/reliable" fix that should insure good rear axle toe control which effects drive-ability, car control not to mention tire wear. I'd say it looks like a good investment.
