Take off the bezel, it should be 4 screws. It is bezel that you see when the headlights are open.
Then there is a chrome colored headlight retainer ring that holds the headlight in just unscrew it and you are then at the headlight.
Just pull the headlight out and undo the plugin for it and plug the new one in and reverse the procedure to put it back together.

Drifting
There should be some screws for adjusting the height of the beam. When I replaced my headlights with the brightest that the auto parts store had, I took the 1990 coupe out on a dark, desolate road and got the screw driver out and adjusted the beams.

It might be slightly different for your '89, but probably close.
