Mystery noise
So I go down to the garage last night to get a fresh bottle of scotch out of the referigerator and notice a muffled clicking sound coming from
my car ('88 vert) every few seconds, somewhat like a relay of some sort.
I think I've narrowed it down to the passenger seat. I disconnected the battery and it stopped; reconnected it and it resumed. Has anyone ever encountered this before?

Melting Slicks
I had my electric antenna do this, a random click every few seconds or so would flatten the battery after sitting a week or two in the garage. traced the problem to the grease having dried out and the plastic antenna wire and the wheel it rolls around binding with the housing, cleaned it and coated with new grease all operating smoothly again. The antenna motor relies on freedom of movement for the pressure switch to be opened via tension if it's not right will activate time and time again.
Not sure how the seat motors work though.

Sounds like a relay due to low battery to me also.
Used to hear them under the dash
I recommend building a stroker to fix it.
Drinks on you

That may be it, is it because i fixed my antenna or that i put a 383 stroker in that the clicking noise and flat battery problems went away

Did you notice the noise after drinking the scotch? If so, that may be the problem. Check it again after sobering up. Merry Chrismas.

Many thanks for the replies.
1. I think that it is the switch. I firmly jiggled it a bit and the noise stopped.
2. Ron (cuisinartvette) is right; the ultimate fix is clearly a stroker.
3. The reason that I needed a fresh bottle of scotch was to get rid of the clicking sound in my head. Opening up a new bottle always seems to
make it go away.
Cheers and a Merry Christmas to all.
