So here in the midwest it looks like the cold weather is not far off. What is your winter project for your vette? Mine is to go to a solid roller and can the hydraulic one.For the way i use my car motor guy says i am leaving too much power on the table.Tuner agrees. So what you doing?

The car is running good. 86 coupe 19 K. I have a code 32. I also would like to replace the injectors. Top priority is a coolant leak right rear of intake manifold, or should I call it the tuned port. We have snow in the air today but as long as the roads are not wet I will drive till January.

Swapping out 700R4 to 6 speed, swapping out D36 (2.59) for D44 (3.73), replacing weatherstripping, and installing new windows on 1993 Coupe. I'm already tired, but looking forward to a new driving experience.

We'll see how the 383 handles the last event of 2012 the first week of Dec.
After that its coilovers, adjustable upper A-arms
Shop for big brakes - at least front.
If all goes well should be mid-pack TT3 car next year

The winters aren't that cold in Fl, but
1- Heater core
2- a/c before april, summers are humid and brutal down here.
3- Alignment for now ( then rims and tires next summer ).
4- Will be sewing my own seat upholstery
( not just covers that don't fit right, real upholstery. ) i'm going with cloth, leather is expensive and cracks and the heat down here makes it a waste of money, so cloth is king. Will do a perforated grey cloth with black piping.
5- Going with stock mufflers within a couple of weeks,
i have muffler delete pipes from the previous owner installed, God that droning makes me nauseous, and the poor vette sounds like a ricer wanna be blaring at 100 plus decibals at a snails pace around town so yeah stock walker QUIET mufflers for me, it is after all an 84 so the hp loss is not noticeable.
6- Then new upgraded style window regulators and new weatherstripping.
7- Finally bilstein shocks all around.
That should just about cover winter projects.

Hate I clicked this thread and saw your project. I can't stand the thought of not having a ZR-1. Maybe a stroker LT5 for yours instead? I know that and the word budget don't get along too well.

For the first time ever..........nothing planned.

Pulling the motor, complete rebuild going with 396.
Deleting EGR/AIR.
Swapping interior from beige/black to red/black.
Corsa exhaust
ZR1 rims and some nittos
Lots of scrubbing to get the underside and engine compartment clean!!
Should be an eventful winter and a whole new kind of monster rolling out of the garage in 2013!

Just bought a MaxJax portable lift. I have to do some concrete work first (garage floor turned out to be too thin) then once the lift is ready to go, the '87 gets headers, bigger sway bars, replace my old R-D Racing harness bar with a Sparco bar and larger bolts for mounting my Corbeau seats and installing the VetteWorks belt mounting system.
Then if there is any money left, new slicks for nest season's autocross....

For the first time since 2007 I don't have a lot of changes planned. I am changing out the rear bearings and going through the car and changing the fluids; engine, trans, rear, brake, and power steering. Most of the money this year and before season start 2013 are going into the most important part of the suspension, the TIRES. Had a bad experience with scrub tires this past year, so from here on it will only be new. Hoosier A's for racing and I think I will try the Toyo Proxes R888's for practice.

Water pump is on it's way out so I'll be replacing that. She is in dire need of a tune-up so that's a must. I picked up a seal kit for the rack so I'll take care of that and maybee while I'm in the area I'll lower it. Also considdering installing some new rocker arms, maybee the 1.6's. Wish I would have done them when I did my valve seals.
