Clutch issues 87 4+3
Just put a new clutch master and slave in my 87.
I bled the system till all the air was out. The car shifted well
and clutch felt good for about a half hour. Then the clutch got
really stiff and started letting out high. I checked the fluid and it was
black. I drained the fluid and used a heavier dot 4 fluid. Again car ran
great for a half hour, same problem, stiff pedal letting out way too high.
Anyone have an idea. Im gettin frustrated.

There was a deal going around a few years ago where the slave seals were instaled wrong (backwards) and let fluid by the seal, and the clutch was stiff and the pedal lost it's feel.
You might just take the slave apart and make sure the seal is pointed the right way.
