Sharp looking intake. I was in the parts section, where there is a 355 for sale with the same intake. Was curious about clearance, not no more.

That one has the Vortec bolt pattern but I would guess the clearance would be the same. Dan, your old plenum is now in Texas and will reside on an El Camino.

Too bad it donest have an EO for California.

"This manifold is not intended for use on late model emissions compliant applications."

But it looks good

No one mentioned the throttle linkage being on the "wrong" side. How much fun will that be?

With black/polished valve covers, will look great!

Looks like it can be attached either side.

The throttle linkage is no big deal, I planned on using Lokar anyway and they make a 36" that will reach around the back side of the plenum with ease. Now the cruise control is another story but still not a big deal, Lokar will make a 48" universal throttle cable that will do the trick. The kickdown will also be Lokar and the manifold comes with a linkage bracket that will accomodate all 3 cables. I could have went cheap and used a pickup truck accelerator cable but I wanted Lokar.
It just so happens I have a pair of polished aluminum, finned valve covers on the way and I plan on painting between the fins with semi-gloss black. Once I get the covers on I will post some update pics.

Since you read the Vette article you probably know this, but FAST sells these adapter harnesses for the IAC and TPS:

They are way easier than trying to splice in new connectors, and are only about $10 ea.

This is just for the manifold, the throttle body and fuel rails are extra but I have just over $800. in all three pieces which is usually what a used superram goes for plus, Vette magazine did a test on it and got 20 more hp over the superram. Here are some pics of it as I just put it on.

That is a very good looking setup! I've been reading up on this intake, and like what I am seeing so far, hopefully I will be getting one for my '88. Would you mind if I ask where you got your setup from? Best I can seem to find is $465+S/H.

Summit Racing has them:

Certainly is the best looking manifold I have seen in a while.

I wish I had seen this a couple days ago, my new connectors are already shipped.

I got this one from Summit, the manifold was $439. + shipping. Amazon had a natural aluminum one for $419. I got the manifold, fuel rails and the throttle body for just over $800.

Things are starting to get cluttered up now. I have the fuel lines and the vacuum lines all hooked up but if I can figure out something better I will change them around. Here's a couple pics from today,,,

[IMG][/IMG]

Just ignore the valve cover, it is just there to help me figure clearances.

Can anybody spot the coil?

Cool. Which rails and TB did you go with? Hard for me to tell from the pictures if where it says Edelbrock Pro Flo if that is a fuel rail or some sort of cover on the intake. And I'm new to GM's

Where it says Pro Flo XT is the anodized aluminum fuel rails they are $125 at Summit. The Throttle body is a polished Summit brand, it is 80mm and was just over $200. If a person wanted to go cheaper a throttle body off of a '98 (+ other years) Camaro will work but there MAY be hood clearance issues with any other tb. I originally thought I had 1/4 to 3/8 inch clearance but it is actually just under 1/4 right on top of the tb which should be more than enough. I did have to turn my fuel pressure gauge sender down to avoid hitting the underhood light on that side. Any point on the plenum from the tb back has plenty of clearance. I will have to get it up & running to be absolutely sure of enough clearance but a very small bit of grinding & re-polishing of the tb will make for plenty of room. Everything will look a little more finished if my valve covers ever get here.

The wire colors should be the same so splicing wont be hard. Either way is easy Im just super lazy and decided to save 3 seconds on my conversion.

Thanks for all the info! I'm shopping for new valve covers as well, but not seeing anything I like. I would prefer black and brushed aluminum saying Corvette in red, but my search has been less than stellar so far. I am finding them, but I do not need the rest of the "dress up kit" with it(Air cleaner and such).
