Default breaking up at around 4500 RPMs

I have a 93 6spd....19k miles on it, well kept original car except for the Borla exhaust it had on it when I purchased it.Car pulls fine up until 4500 or so...then it starts to break-up . Ive changed the fuel filter, run 93 octane.I assume plugs are original to the car. Any ideas here..??....bad opti, wires...???.....

Sure does sound like an Optispark problem. Have you had a shop check it for trouble codes?

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and drive with it taped to your windshield. 19k is really not much and sitting long times inbetween drives means you prob have a lot of trash in the tank. Ive had trash get in the line and make it all the way to regulator before.... you would think fuel filter would have gotten it.

Easy check, could save you lots of headache later.

Hmmmmm.........nearly 20 year old plugs and wires. I wonder where I'd start before I start throwing money at it

Plugs and wires are often the cause of high rpm miss.
