When you insert the ignition key, the key cylinder pushes against
a switch which closes its contacts.

Try pushing the key hard inward a couple of times and see if the
switch starts working.

It appears the same ignition key warning buzzer switch was
used in 1977-1996 Corvettes.

Here's a picture of the switch in a older steering column.
The switch for a 95 is the same and in the same location.

To clean or replace the switch requires the removal of everything
down to the turn signal switch which you pull up to get
it out of the way. You can then use a paper clip to pull
out the switch.

If you don't want to replace the switch and just want to
get the switch closed so you can program the key fob,
you can short the two wires together at connector C204
( 11 pin connector) located down on the middle of the steering column.

The wires from the switch are Light Green and a Black/White
wire which go to the CCM.

Thanks, I've tried pushing key no luck. Took the carpet cover off from below steering wheel tring to get access to c204 where i can short the wires, but haven't been able to get to them. What do I have to do to get to them?
