Default C4 Heater Core Part identify

Hello

I am putting a new heater core in my 1992 C4 Convertible. When I was taking the heater core cover out, a piece fell on the passenger floor. Can you help in identifying this part and where does it go. The part is about 3 inches long.

Thanks in advance

There's alot 'wrong' with the description of this eBay offering BUT for placement of the part you have included this could be considered 'instructional' Not for you to consider a 'buy' but for description of placement only. It's the R/H floor outlet.

When I did the heater core on my 90 there is a plastic tube bolted to the outside of the cover which directs air to the side window vents. That little piece shown is located inside the cover and mates to that tube coming in from the outside the cover.
