Show me a Chevy that never leaks oil (except for LSx motors)
Could be an intake they have a tendency to leak at the rear, oil sending unit too. Wouldnt worry about a slight drip except the work to fix it.
Every 2 pc rms (older) has leaked almost upon startup. Let em leak til it gets bad

Easy fix for any competent DIY mechanic...$35 for gaskets and about 90 minutes of time.

2+ years (current engine, 383 build) and no leaks:
Ok....exception rather than the rule

Use the oil drops as a barganing tool. Tell the seller it looks to be fatal. Have him drop his price $500 for a seal replacement and drive away with a smile and put a $8.00 drip pan under your car.

I gave up trying to fight oil leaks a long time ago. I resigned myself to the fact that unless I get the chance to pull the engine completely out and replace every seal on it at the same time and under ideal conditions, it's just gonna leak. If I do have to pull my engine completely, it's not going back as a stock 350, so it's just gonna leak for a while.
A good friend of mine works at the local Chevy dealer. He says the only SBC's he worries about are the ones that DON'T leak.

My '90 didnt leak a drop for 115K miles (I only owned it since 90K, but it didnt leak when I got it). Finally it started leaking when I broke the piston rings and it blew oil out the valve covers.
