Default '92 LT1-C4 to LS1/LS3/L92/L99 - T56 swap

I finally brought my '92 vette roller in from storage and started mocking up for the L92/L99 swap. I used stock C4-LT1 engine/frame mounts with the Speedhound C4 L98->LS1 conversion brackets, and the engine sits about 1inch from the firewall and still leaves me 3->4 inches in front of the Truck/VVT pulley. The T56/Cbeam is fit in and the Melrose C4-LS1 swap header fit like a dream.

My plan is to utilize the VVT and get a TSP VVT cam. Heads have already been rebuilt and PAC 1518 springs installed. For accessories, my plan is:
- 2010 Camaro L99 water pump
- LS3 corvette P/S and alt bracket, w/ 1.5" spacers
- KWIK 2010 Camaro AC bracket w/ Sanden

The 2010 Camaro oil pan is too low, so I have a LS3 vette pan coming. I have an empty (mains spun) LS1 block, empty T56 shell, borrowed unloaded heads, my LS3 intake, and quicktime bellhousing hooked up for the mockup work. I've held off finishing the refresh on the L92 until I figured out if I could use the VVT or not.

My SSR-hybrid 1000hp T56 will get installed along with the L92(L99) motor over the Winter, now that the mockup is mostly done. I'm going to piggyback the LT1 ECM with the E38 ECM, to run all the dash/interior electronics of the C4. I'm sure most of the Winter will be hunting gremlins..

I bought the car here on CF as a roller with no engine&trans, so it was a natural for an LS transplant.

I've been neglecting this thread during the parts collecting these past 6 months. I'm doing better keeping the thread linked to ls1tech
up to date, but here's some pic links of things that might interest the CF crowd:

awesome build! couple questions. so the l98 conversion brackets mount directly to the lt1 mounts? looking at the pictures i think you shortend the c-beam? whered you get the offset shifter bracket for the t56?

D'oh! I was kicking myself for not double checking that as soon as I hit the submit reply button.

Yup.. Those are the speedhound conversion brackets and the stock LT1 mounts. It looks to sit back a little, but it still clears the wiper motor, etc. I wasn't sure about the VVT (out 1.5" from a LS Vette accessory setup) so the 1" setback brackets worked out nice.

I bought a D44 C-beam on Ebay that turned out to be a D36 C-beam.. I figured on modifying it anyway, so I wasn't too concerned. I welded up my own C-beam plates and POR'd everything.

The shifter is a MGW. One of (if not the one) best T56 shifters on the market. They also sell Mustang T56 shifters and the cobra had a 2" offset handle. So for $20 extra I had the F-body T56 shifter send with a Cobra 2" offset handle. (The **** is Factory FoMoCo to match the 16mm threads of the Cobra handle)

Everything except the fuel filter was from summitracing.com. The filter is a C5 filter/regulator from NAPA WIX 3737.

Russell Performance 644113 - fuel filter return to -6AN adapter
Russell Performance 644123 - (2) fuel filter supply to -6AN adapter
and LS fuel rail adapter
Russell Performance 640003 - -6AN Female to -6AN Female
Russell Performance 640940 - fuel filter output to -6AN adapter

Earl's Performance 9894DBJERL - (2) GM '92 fuel line to -6AN adapter
Earl's Performance 350306ERL - AN hose -6 size
Earl's Performance AT800106ERL - (4) AN swivel hose ends -6 size

If I really tried, I probably could have used two of the 64003 Females, but I left the factory fuel lines staggered and built a small 4inch AN hose to connect the return line.

CSR Performance 911LS1C - Straight water neck

Did I hit on the two parts you were asking about?

Wow, thanks!

I am now $248 poorer (I added a throttle cable). Summit's just around the corner so I get my stuff next day, which means Saturday just got real busy.

Why didn't you, the line wasn't long enough or the two fittings were too close and interfered? And you mean you made a short -6 hose, right? That's what the (2) AT800106ERL parts were for?

And it looks like the CSR part number is now CSR911LS1.

When you did your trial fit how much room did you have on top of the T-56? I am putting a T-56 into a 93 roller like you. I am building a LT-4 for it. Here is what I did for a shifter to keep the Corvette look.

It is the shifter out of the 87 I'm parting. I plan to use the built in switch to control the reverse lock out solenoid.

The factory lines come up staggered, so to align them I would have had to bend the lines and risk crimping.

Yes, I made a very short -6AN hose with the AT800106ERL ends, to make up the stagger.

The shifter mount of the T56 was just below the tunnel (maybe 1/2") during the trial fit. I still have to cut ~2" off the side of the shifter hole in the tunnel to allow access the the T56 shifter bolts.

I hope to use the LS ECM to properly control the lockout on my swap.

Some more eye-candy. I'm scheduled to start assembling the short-block this weekend. Fingers-crossed.

Mike have you sorted out the speedo drive issues? With mine I understand that the Fx3 uses the speedo signal to control the selective ride settings. I don't know what the difference is on the speedo sending unit is from the ZF to the T-56 difference is.
