A build like your thinking will cost $20k or more.

And that power means beefed up tranny and probly straight axle.
It would be a amazing build but you better have deeeeeeppp pockets.

LS7 and above are a waste of money. Your paying for new product tax. Best bang for your buck is the LS3 setup. That motor for the same price invested in it as a LS7, LS9, or Warhawk will walk those motors like no tomorrow.

LS3 $5k
H/C $3k
TV2300 $7k
= Spanking a Warhawk

Put your eggs in better basket not a cooler.

Funny, people told me the same thing about my 8.5" 10 bolt rear living behind my 750hp pontiac in my 79 trans am build. That is a drag car,and i built it anyway and its been living for 4 years in it doin 1.3 60ft times and 9.80s at 139mph!lol

How does a 481 ci warhawk ls7 shortblock brand new with a custom grind cam that will work for what i want and pan,dry sump oil pan, timing covers, lifter all for $3000 sound??
I cant even build my l98 into a nice shortblock for that amount!

Amazing find!! Go for it. I'm doing one as we speak. I haven't touched it in a while. I had to have my trans gone through and I now need a stall converter. I cant wait till next month. I'm off for a week and plan on hitting it hard.

Here is my swap thread hope it helps.

I know the block is the same dimensions as the ls1,2,etc blocks so the same motor mount adapetrs would work but what about the extended crank snout along with dry sump oil system including the oil pan?
Most other ls swaps people use a fbody ls1 pan.

I ask because i have a chance to pick up a ls7 shortblock from a friend in a cpl hours and i have been thinking about a ls swap for a while and this just popped up.

Anyone know of anyone that has done it?
Goggle doesnt turn up much.
Convert the engine to f-body pan and it will work fine. You can buy the conversion parts from Texas speed or any dealer as long as you know the part numbers.

I would like to see more ls7 swaps.

If im going to go thru the work of an engine swap, its not the money but time factor.

Time is money and i spend the same amt of time fitting an ls7 into a c4 as i would an ls3.

So id put an ls7 in.

Also no need for a straight axle with a d44. We'vE got people running 8s with c4 technology d44 irs.

Intriguing build. I am curious about the suspension. Can it be upgraded easily to C5/C6 or would that require a lot of body and chassis modifications?

Id agree with putting better brakes on and stiffening up the c4s flimsy frame but thats where any benefits you get are going to stop

The c5/6 front suspension is about the same as the c4.

While the rear is different, theres not really much to be gained.

The d44 is fine on e you extend bump stops

Better brakes and stiffening up the frame is where the newer cars are improved vs the c4
