Default Identify a ccm/bcm part number.

I am having problems with my ccm in my 1991 L98 coupe and was sold a replacement that was suppose to be in very good condition.
Trouble is, when I got the old one out, I discovered that the replacement has a different part number. My original is 16155502.

The replacement is 16196521. It has the code "BHZS" on it also and a service number 16157364.

They look identical. right down to the pins and brackets. Can anyone tell me what the part numbers indicates. What is this replacement really for. The guy I bought it from swears he removed it from a 91.

It was real cheep. Everything else for a 91 is very expensive ($200.00 too $500.00).

my 91 fsm shows no numbers. I tried one number, original, at corvettecentral.com, and it showed ecm for zr1. not accurate, of course. you can sech it if you like.

I would install it. if it was a 90 or 89 might not ake any diff.

I believe the one you received is a '94 MY. The service number identifies it as such.

What do you feel is wrong with your BCM? What problems or codes?

Check this thread for a BCM?CCM: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-p...rthern-va.html

Dan's a pretty good guy, maybe you guys can negotiate a deal!! He say's his reads 0? Don't quite understand that!

My parts book shows 16155502 as a remanufactured 1991 ECM. I assume they're showing "reman" because they ran out of new ones.

The other two numbers are not in my book. GM will change the number if they modify the ECM. Also the AC Delco numbers are different than the GM numbers.

The BHZS sounds like a PROM code. They are specific to years and equipment (like auto vs. manual trans, rear end ratio, etc.). Make sure you take the old one out of the old ECM and put it in the new ECM.
