New Dual Exhaust (vid)
My latest project is I change out my exhaust again.
This time I went with corvette centrals LT-1 dual straight pipe with elimators. I wanted loud so now I got it.
The kit sells for $340, I thought it was fairly priced for what you get. Mine's not a LT but I was already set up with the LT hangers and such. I also have headers so I did have some slight modification. Mainly the header reducer on the drivers side. I had to shorten up the pipe. Then to the two straight pipes I had to extend those about a inch. If I didn't the tips were to far inside the rear bumper. It made sense to extend those straight pipes to get my tips where I wanted them. So there was some welding involved but not much. In order to get the clamps tight enough that connected the straights pipes to the front Y I had to use a impact wrench to draw them in. All in all if you want loud and something thats farily easy to install, its not a bad set up.
End result.....my neighbors are gonna hate me and probably be throwing rotten vegtables my way..lol

What was that?? couldn't hear ya!...
Agreed. Fortunetly the longest drive I've ever taken is an hour. And thats maybe once a year. i've already put a set of ear plugs in there just in case.

Drove an L98 with elims, it was loud but didnt get the drone.
Perhaps due to having a 6 spd/ZF6 didnt get in the drone range but never noticed it.Maybe with an auto/taller gear it would
Without drone, exhaust volume itself can be a good thing. Id use elims before experimenting with mufflers, heavy and expensive. Keep us posted.

Well I've driven about 15 miles and absolutely love the sound. Loud yes but drone...not really. I had more drone when using the borlas. Its a auto btw.

Now thats what Im talking about......At Carlisle it sounded like a normal Vette, now it sounds ..The secret to loud exhaust is to drive fast enough that the sound can't catch up to you......This is the same exhaust setup Im running on my Vette, but you can tell your cam is bigger.....WW
Sounds Sweet!!!!

It does sound Healthy! I have a L98 with top end work and was thinking about side pipes for this winters project. But maybe, just for kicks, I'll go with making a true straight pipe dual exaust out of it. It Doesn't cost much and if I feel it is too loud I can add some baffel tubes or resonators to quiet it down some if I feel I need to.
