Default 1993 c5 vette having issues when pressing accelerator to floor and hesitation occurs,

1993 C5 vette w/ 63k miles having issues when pressing accelerator to floor and hesitation occurs, in fact at times stalls ? I've just bought this car last week. I thought possible bad gas from sitting, in turn , thus far I have used 3 full tanks of non ethanol highest octane with proper amount of " sea foam" fuel injector cleaner. I really haven't noticed any improvement? any suggestion would be appreciated. Thx Dan

Dan, from looking at your profile picture you have a C4 and not a C5. Although this question you ask can also pertain to a problem a C5 may face I think you'd be better off posing this question on the C4 Tech Forum.
No harm done on your part, just pointing you in the right direction.

My '87 C4 had the same problem and it turned out to be a bad mass airflow sensor. I swapped it out and shazam ran like new again.

While the MAF is certainly a possibility, I'd start with a measurement from your fuel pressure. If you car has been sitting a while (as you state) your fuel system could be acting up.

If you don't get 40ish off your schrader valve, I'd start with your fuel filter as that is a likely culprit.

Moving this over to the C4 Tech section. I believe the member has a C4, not a C5.

Hello and thank you for the response. This is a 1993 conv. with 63k on it. No service/maintenance records came with this car. I am planning on getting manual ASAP. I'm not sure about "Sea foam stirring the pot " ? This product was highly recommended by several mechanics...

Thank you also for the response. I think That changing the fuel filter might be a start in the right direction ( considering it sat for extended amount of time, and undoubtedly the previous owner did not put any " sabil" in fuel system for proper storage. As far as measuring fuel pressure of the schader valve.. I've never done that and will look into procedure.Much appreciated input!
Thank you again

Sea Foam will help to clean the injectors but if the car sat for some time, there could have been deposits in the tank that got loosened up. That may have resulted in a clogged or very dirty fuel filter so replacing it may help. Also check fuel pressure to make sure that it's right. The fuel pump has a "sock" at the bottom of the pick-up and it could be clogged up. They aren't expensive and can be replaced by pulling the fuel pump out.

Hello and thank you for the response.
So when you changed mass airflow sensor( MAF for short?) 1. how much is sensor? 2. something a " weekend mechanic" can do?
Thx

92-93 are Speed Density no MAF. Fuel pressure is a good place to start. Codes? Vacuum leak(s)? A4 or M6?

According to the above your year model doesn't have a MAF? If that is the case, then my problem is not of much help.
