Default low gas pressure

i just bought a 89 convertible, 6 speed, 60k miles ran great for two days, passed smog, then 24 hours later at a stop sign , went for gas and it just spurted and bogged down, changed fuel filter and pump and still the same. Any thoughts? computer is 4yrs old, car was well taken care of but not driven much.

Also the pressure is 21. where should i start, pressure regulator, sending unit, could it be a clogged catalytic converter, ?

Does it hold pressure after you turn it off or leak down immediately? Assuming pressure drops like a rock, I would look for leaks first with the key on, engine off. How easy is it to get the fuel rail off on an 89? Could be leaking injectors.

If you dont find any obvious leaks you can try to isolate it by tapping in and checking pressure at different points in the system.

When you changed the pump, did you use or reuse the pulsator? Strange little thing between the pump and the feed line. This may have come off. Suggest you replace it with a piece of 3/8 fuel hose and hose clamps. Your pressure should be up around 39-43 PSI not 21. Cat would have no relationship to pressure.
