I believe this is one of the best tires for the money. I purchased these after seeing them on one of the forum members cars and couldn't be happier with them. Can't beat the price.....WW

Ive got Sumi's on all 4 corners. Just replaced the 315/35/17's on the back for $140 w/free shipping. Check out americanmuscle.com. Its a mustang site but with such cheap prices I hold no prejudice.

Nothing wrong with the "gold" line or Bendix brake pads for street driving. Ceramic creates less dust and costs more. Other "exotic" materials exist heading well above $100/set.

Pick according to your needs. Most anything will work for normal street driving.

Any pics of the Sumi's in 275/40-17? Do they run narrow compared to other tires?

Sorry, my fronts are 285's. Sumi's tend to run narrower tread width. I think its because the point where the sidewall meets the tread is more rounded on the Sumis. The only way I have seen measurements of different tires is without them being mounted. As I have said before, Is the extra 1/2" tread worth $150? Next higher in price would be the Nitto at $60-70 more and up from there goes up considerably.

Thats my take on it anyway

Are you running the 315/35/17 Sumi's on 11" wheels and do the tires protrude outside the rear wheel arch?
Also are you using the the HTRZ (Block pattern tread) or the HTRZ+II( Y tread pattern)

Default Kumhos

Kumhos are good also. I have 35,000 miles on my rear. The fronts would have been fine also but my alignment went out.

I now have Poly bushings front and rear on my 96.

I re-tired earlier this year (I do race). Went from Kumho Ecstas to Sumi HTR-Z-III and I'm liking them. No pics of my tires, but the best place price-wise I found was at mamo...sadly, they don't have that price ($119/ea.) anymore...I imagine you can blame the tsunami for that. Tirerack was next in line on price.

sumi 315's run over an inch narrower than other 315's, closer to 285/305, I have them on 11's but they would be fine on a 9.5 rim. wouldnt run a full measure 315 but dont see an issue with the sumi's. I also have the 275's on 9.5 they are closer in width to other makers.

Yeah I am running the 11" rims and the tires are the HTRZ's, block pattern. Looks really sweet from the back with those fat a** tires.
