Yes that's True Steve.

Or be on the Cover of National Dragster here in the USA.
Or on the cover of Hotrod or Carcraft magazines.

How about if we install a 101mm - 106mm Turbo on your 84 Vette or 87 vert?

Bet you would be infamous then.
You can't lift off the gas for the entire 1,320 foot 1/4 mile run either.
No matter how scary the ride is. lol

Yes or no ?

I will supervise and just watch for you Steve from the starting line.

Its only 2,500 HP.

I did buy the 84 as a future racecar project so turbo sounds like a plan. Just send me a kit and some instructions. I have my performance dana 36 3.31 diff waiting for some action out the back.

I have already told her not to come. She is not complaining. I told her that her job is to get me sponsorship. I just got off the phone from the speed shop and they want $12/l for racing fuel. No more avgas over here. Need sponsors urgently!

Just kidding with you Steve.

It takes a Heroic type of Human Being to pilot a car with 2,000 + horsepower down a track.

Much like that guy in Australia that runs 300 miles per hour on the water with a Jet fighter engine for propulsion power.

I have a buddie in Joliet, Illinois that fits the exact criteria needed to drive fearlessly no matter how much power is on tap.

Crazy Eddie.

Not a big guy. But he can drive.

Over 900 Hp, I prefer to watch.

Don't call over to the USA to Washington DC.
They don't give out money to racers anywhere here.

lol

It would be fun playing around with a turbo. Something different to pass the time.

Turbos are neat and reliable if the rest of the engine is built properly around it.

I'm no expert with them.

Crazy Eddie once took for a " ride around town" in a Renegade 5.0 car with 934 RWHP.
Just a 306ci engine with a Vortech YSi supercharger.
28lbs of boost.

Unbelievable riding shotgun.
Way Beyond Vision Bluring acceleration speeds present.
We seen 140 in seconds.

Just punching from 50 mph we seen 130 in no time.

Afterwards, he told me the car ran ok that we worked on together all week.

But it was @%%^^ slow to him.

His car was faster.

Hes crazy soo Crazy Edddie is what we all call him.

You know "Sean" and "Scott Howie" both.
Scott built this groundbreaking 6 second 1984 Corvette.

Sean Bought it and raced it till the car flipped at 210 mph and skidded down the track upside down on the cars roof.

I am a sharp reader, did not take much research here on C4 history posts to realize that you know this 6-second C4 and both owners and drivers of this Vette.

Where is Sean and Scott now ?
My guess is Sean does not ever want to get back into any race car again after his drag racing accident.
Cant blame the guy.
He probably found that he likes to live every day safe and try and grow old like most normal people.

You bet he almost died...........
And scoop up his remains with a large shovel if dead.

Its interesting his car was only 401 Cubic inches.

430 + cubic inches make a ton of power.
In a small block 430 + chevy engine it can be very difficult keeping head gaskets on the engine.
Large amounts of boost or nitrous like to lift the heads off on them.
Even with ARP 220,000 psi head studs.

A friend had a 430 ci sbc Scott Shafferoff built engine in his 1978 Chevy Malibu.
Turbo 400 trans, 4,500 RPM stall, 12 - bolt 1970 Chevelle A-body rear installed with Strange Steel Rear Spool and Strange Hy Tuff Race axles.
4.10 Richmond 8620 Pro gear set.
12-Bolt rear differential built by myself for him.
10.5" wide rear tire car to comply with back then NMCA NHRA drag Racing Rules.

Was a low 9- second car with 250 hp shot of Nitrous.

He could not keep headgaskets on that 430ci Shafferoff motor for more than 15 or 20 full power passes.
Engine was not running lean on fuel ever.

Scott Shafferoff even flew out once to inspect the engine himself together and apart.
Said " Sorry Kid.....That's just Racing."
Was a $22,000 long block engine he bought.

What happened to Sean's last run in his 106mm Turbo C4?
Did the car become unstable?
Areodynamics and sudden wind direction changes wreak havoc on
Big horsepower racing machines running over 190 mph or 200mph.

Where is the car? Do You own it now?
Is it being rebuilt or just sitting wrecked yet?
