Take it out of the car or rebuild it?
To take it out of the car look in the factory service manual.
(Or post the year and maybe someone can let you know)
Rebuilding the rack - maybe a google search would come up with the rebuild process.
Most of us just get a rebuilt rack or have turn one rebuild it.

You didn't specify a year, but this link shows an exploded parts diagram for the steering gear for 89-92. You can work back up through the website to an earlier year if you need.
