Default Opinion on ebay drag wheels

Hey guys i'm in need of some drag wheels. Was poking around in this thread here:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...ls-for-c4.html

Which gave me some great idea's and info!! I came to the determination that i will be going with M/T Drag Radials because i will be driving the car to the strip. Going to get 15x10 wheels (will have to grind the rear calipers from what i hear)

Now i'm looking at these knock off weld prostars:

What do you think? Keep in mind I'm not racing for competition or anything. Just for Myself. I'm currently having a 396 built for the car by Jim (tpi_421_vette) also.

I don't know about those wheels, but the knock off ones from Summit are quality enough for most weekend warriors and in that price range. I would probably go with the Summit ones just because if there is a problem I know Summit will take care of it.

I don't know about your car, but on my stock 91, the 15 inch Summit wheels cleared the rear calipers with no grinding.

Good to see you are looking for some better tires. The 396 with a miniram and some AFR's will be apples to oranges compared to your 355 with edelbrock heads. You will definately need better tires!

Oh man yeah! Already the 355 over powers my 315's, i can't imagine what the 396 will do, liquify them

I have at least 3 sets of 1984 to 1992 C-4 16 inch 17 inch corvette wheels i have been collecting, most without tires ,, a couple of complete sets with decent rubber also priced very reasonable, You can pick any 4 you want for 130.00,,, or less if you only want one or 2 wheels. I also have one 17 inch blade set (from 88 and above vette) with NEW BFG tires on them I ALSO HAVE THE ADAPTERS TO PUT THEM ON 1984 TO 1987 corvettes IF YOU WANT THEM i would take 450.00 for the set OBO ,.,, also one set of 5 spoke alum AMERICAN RACING WHEELS IN GREAT CONDITION for 200.00 OBO. I need the room ,, give me a call take them away,, Steve 619-210-4444

Check these guys out: http://www.racestarindustries.com/

Supposedly no grinding required on them now...

I had the old version of these wheels when they were known as Greg Weld Motorsport wheels and had to grind my rear calipers.

Use a 15x10 with 6.5" of backspacing with a 275 Mickey Thompson ET Street radial... you'll hook no problem (my 85 pulled 1.43 60fts with these)
