Default Is 93 Vette trans direct replacement for 87

I came across a 93 Corvette local with 44,000 miles that is being parted out and was wondering if the automatic transmission in it would be a direct replacement for the 700R4 in my 87 Vette?
Is this trans still the 700R4 or was 93 when they switched designations over to the 4L60?
Thanks

4L60 is a T700 by different name

4L60E is the electronically controlled version which while physically identical can only be used with a compatible computer which you don't have

I knew the 4l60e was computer controlled, but was not sure if the 93 was computer controlled or used the TV cable like my 87

I " thought " 94 was the 1st year but in any case all it takes is a look for said cable to identify which type it is

Not all 93 autos are same. There is the 4 pin connector version and the 5 pin version. Which one is it that you are considering?

93cruiser

I am close enough I might be interested in it.

Use the checkball arrangement from an 88 if you have a late 87 valve body.
Use the 86 check ball arrangement if you have the early style valve body.
1987 was a transitional year.
many thanks for this info, respectfully, bob

I am supposed to pick up the 93 trans this weekend, it is the 700R4/4L60 with the TV cable but is a 5 pin plug in instead of the 4 pin like mine, I have been told it is just a matter of pulling the pins and putting my original 4 pins into the 5 pin connector, is this correct?
Is it this simple or is there more to it?
Pete K would I still need to Remove the valve body, seperator plate, internal wiring harness, pressure switches and wiring case connector from the 87, and install it in the 93 trans. and Use the checkball arrangement from an 88 if you have a late 87 valve body. Use the 86 check ball arrangement if you have the early style valve body, or could I just bolt it in and use it as is without problems?
Thanks everyone for the help
